Free calculator from FairwayOS
Is a golf event worth it for you?
Move the sliders to see what an outing would cost and how little it has to return to pay for itself, whether you are hosting clients and prospects or raising money for a cause.
How the calculator works
The business outing tab adds up the cost of hosting your guests and shows how many new clients, or how many existing clients kept, it takes for the outing to pay for itself. The charity fundraiser tab adds your registration revenue and sponsorships, subtracts what the course and event cost you, and shows what is left for your cause.
Every number comes from the sliders you move, and nothing is saved until you ask for the breakdown. If you request it, we email you a one-page plan with your numbers, a budget checklist and the questions to ask your course before you sign.
Frequently asked questions
How does the business calculator decide how many clients I need?
It multiplies your guests by the all-in cost per golfer to get the event cost, divides that by the annual value of one client, and rounds up to a whole client, with a minimum of one. It counts one year of client value and does not predict how many prospects will actually sign.
How does the charity calculator work out what the event nets?
Revenue is the number of golfers times the entry fee, plus your total sponsorships. Cost is the number of golfers times your all-in cost per golfer. The net is revenue minus cost, and the margin is the net divided by revenue.
What should I include in the all-in cost per golfer?
Include the green fee, cart, food and beverage, and any service charge, gratuity and tax the course adds on top. Ask the course for the all-in per-golfer quote in writing so the figure you enter is the figure you will pay.
Is the result a forecast?
No. The calculator uses only the numbers you enter. It does not predict attendance, how many sponsors you will sign or whether a prospect becomes a client, so treat it as a planning aid rather than a guarantee.
